    Make your own roasted almonds

For many, an indispensable element of seasonal enjoyment, whose characteristic scent accompanies the first signs of the pre-Christmas period and festively decorated streets and markets: roasted almonds. This sweet, crispy delicacy is not only a popular snack in the autumn and Christmas season, but also a symbol of coziness and tradition. Preparing roasted almonds at home is therefore not only a culinary pleasure, but also a wonderful opportunity to bring the enticing scent into your own four walls and to turn it into a family activity that increases the anticipation of the festive season.

The Christmas market classic for home

Preparing roasted almonds at home is incredibly simple and doesn't require many ingredients. The only crucial part is the right timing during the production. The classic way to prepare roasted almonds in your own kitchen is via the pan. Here's how it's done:

    1. Put sugar, vanilla sugar, and cinnamon in a large pan and mix everything together.
    2. Then add water and let it boil.
    3. Let it simmer until the sugar in it has completely dissolved.
    4. Add the almonds to the sugar water and let the mixture simmer while stirring constantly until the water has evaporated and a matte sugar layer has formed over the almonds.
    5. Then reduce the stove to medium heat and continue stirring until the sugar layer has dissolved and the almonds start to shine. This should happen after a few minutes.
    6. Place the shiny almonds on a piece of baking paper and spread them out as well as possible to avoid large clumps and promote cooling.

Your Recipe: Roasted Almonds from the Thermomix

Preparing roasted almonds in the Thermomix offers an effortless yet equally tasty way to make the popular snack at home in just 30 minutes. Without burning, constant stirring, and a dirty pan. Here's how:

    1. Preheat the oven to 150°C (302°F) convection.
    2. In the meantime, heat the almonds with sugar, cinnamon, and butter in the mixing bowl for 6 minutes at Varoma/left turn/gentle stir setting.
    3. Add water and heat the mixture again for 9 minutes at Varoma/left rotation/level 1.
    4. Then spread the almonds on a baking tray lined with baking paper, distributing them a bit so they don't clump together too much.
    5. Let the almonds bake for about 15 minutes at 150°C convection in the preheated oven until they start to bubble. As soon as this happens, the almonds should be immediately removed from the oven and allowed to cool.
