Before Metallbude existed, there were just four friends with a shared dream – united by their passion for craftsmanship, their creativity, and a tireless drive. Four young men with great ambitions who found no room to realize them in their previous jobs. Dissatisfaction, as we all know, calls for change, so they began to forge concrete plans from naive dreams. And so, in 2020, the dream became reality, and the former dreamers became entrepreneurs. Their vision – then and now: to produce high-quality furniture with a timeless design and, at the same time, to create a space for creativity and individuality. Their material: metal. For them, the epitome of aesthetics, longevity, and sustainability in the art of design.

We develop, design, and produce our furniture and home accessories ourselves. Design is therefore a central aspect of our work. Our products are characterized by their timeless aesthetics and innovative, functional design. A clear formal language, neutral non-colors, and an open structure create furniture that not only meets current design standards but also appeals to individual needs and diverse stylistic approaches. Our design philosophy, at its core, corresponds to the principle of longevity and is based on the aesthetic and craftsmanship of our products.

As producers, we bear a responsibility towards our environment and, at the same time, have the opportunity to inspire a more conscious lifestyle. Therefore, we only design and produce products that are equally durable in their aesthetics and functionality. A timeless look paired with a clear function is the guiding principle that runs like a thread through our thinking and processes – from the design to the finished product. For us, this primarily means ensuring quality: We work with robust materials, high-quality welds, and easy-care coatings. Our products are largely manufactured by hand, thus involving all of the senses. This special relationship between people and product is what makes reliable quality possible.

Our understanding of sustainability is rooted in our design philosophy and the principle of longevity. By providing furniture with lasting material and aesthetic quality, we ensure long-term, conscious satisfaction of needs. The design of tomorrow is not mass production that harms the environment. Our approach therefore involves avoiding excess inventory and so-called "long-sellers." To achieve this, we work with regular inventories, inter- and intra-feedback processes, and quantitative evaluations. Packaging is another area where we can contribute to sustainability: Our products are shipped in FSC®-certified, product-sized boxes and only contain as much filling or protective material as is absolutely necessary for safe shipping and undamaged condition.

Metallbude is a team project because we firmly believe that we are capable of more as a unit than one can achieve alone. Our team now consists of almost 40 employees, whose expertise, passion, and curiosity make Metallbude what it is. Over time, we have been able to perfect the idea and implementation of modern furniture design and increasingly meet our quality and sustainability standards. Innovation is also a driving force behind Metallbude's work. And in the future, we want to continue thinking, rethinking, and rethinking in order to create the designs of tomorrow, to continue creating and inspiring. And to grow together.
