Get-together with award ceremony, showroom & SION presentation

When the shipping hall is festively decorated and filled with people, it can only mean one thing: an event is taking place . Strictly speaking, the first event since Metallbude was founded. The reason for this was the conclusion of the design contest, which had been held in the previous summer months. The event not only included the award ceremony, but also an informal get-together with representatives from the city administration, business and content creation.

From June 1st to July 31st, Metallbude called on young designers to get creative and share their visions of modern furniture design. From a total of more than thirty entries, the winning designs were selected by an in-house jury consisting of representatives from management and product development.

The design contest was advertised in cooperation with Wortmann Future Capital GmbH and its Tamaris brand . Third place winner Käty Dück was delighted to receive a Tamaris surprise package worth 150 euros for her ingenious design of a candlestick. Melanie Pauls took second place with her design for a filigree spice rack. This was honored with a six-month subscription to Tamaris. Everyone present was particularly excited about the winner and her design.

Because in addition to a 500-euro voucher from Metallbude, the main prize was that the winning design was produced by Metallbude and added to the range. Bärbel Franz from Bavaria was able to win the competition with the SION hanging bracket .

The unveiling of the SION prototype was certainly one of the highlights of the event - for the designer Bärbel Franz herself, but also for the approximately 50 invited guests. The unveiling in the Metallbude showroom was perfectly staged, to much applause and appreciative looks from the audience. On the other hand, the speech by Managing Director Dennis Siemens, who gave a personal review of the history of Metallbude at the event, provided for emotional moments and a few laughs. Last but not least, he impressed Detmold's mayor, Frank Hilker , who referred to Metallbude's previous successes in his speech and described this development as "remarkable".

The relaxed atmosphere and the noticeable interest of those present were also remarkable. Whether during the guided tour of production and shipping or over a glass of wine at the buffet: the discussions and networking enlivened the event significantly and enabled the company to introduce itself to a wider audience - spatially, in terms of content and, above all, personally.
