    Ingredients (for 2 glasses)

    1 ripe mango (alternatively 250 g mango puree or frozen mango, thawed)
    250 g natural yogurt (Greek yogurt makes it extra creamy)
    100 ml cold water or milk
    1–2 tsp sugar or honey (to taste)
    1 pinch of cardamom (optional, but very authentic)
    Ice cubes as needed
    Optional: a splash of lemon juice for more freshness

    Preparation

    1. Peel the mango, remove the flesh from the pit, and cut it into rough cubes.

    2. Place the mango, yogurt, water/milk, and sweetener in a blender.

    3. Blend everything until creamy and smooth.

    4. Season with a pinch of cardamom and add a few ice cubes if needed.

    5. Serve immediately – the colder, the more refreshing.

    Tips for perfect results

    Ripe mango = more flavor: The mango should be soft, aromatic, and have an intense fragrance. For fibrous mangos, blend longer or use mango puree.

    Control creaminess: For a particularly thick lassi: use Greek yogurt and reduce the water. For a lighter version: dilute yogurt half with water.

    Vegan option: Mango lassi also works very well with coconut or oat yogurt – just be careful with the liquid measurement.

    Authentic taste: A tiny pinch of ground cardamom instantly makes the lassi 'Indian'. Not too much – otherwise it will dominate.

    For canned mango puree: Look for a high-quality variety. They are sweeter and more intense than frozen goods.
